Thank you for what you shared here. My mum is currently in hospital with clinical depression and I have felt under a tremendous amount of pressure to somehow make it all go away for her and my father. What you shared and the video clip has made me realise that I just can't do that but that's ok because my mum has a loving Father in heaven who is able to do immeasurably more than we can hope or imagine.

'I came that they may have life and have it abundantly' John 10:10. In some ways I have felt that I can't even reach my mum through the haze of her depression enough to to be able to walk along side her through it. The video and what you shared has reminded me that she isn't walking through this alone but her loving Father is walking beside her every step of the way. Thank you.

One of the things I find so encouraging in our church is the honesty. When I was at college I studied Public Services, one of the units was Leadership. I remember being taught that a leader should never show weakness. - What a load of RUBBISH!! One of the things I thought as a new Christian especially on conferences and Christian festivals was that those people on stage were perfect, that nothing went wrong for them. As a Christian I struggle, I don't want to but I sin, I can get really annoyed by life and sometimes want to scream and shout at God.
Thank you for sharing what you're going through Matt. It's great that most people in church are really REAL with each other. I read a book the other day that said we should ban the word 'FINE', lets be honest, lets say what we really feel and how we're doing in the good and the tough times. It really is amazing that Jesus keeps pulling us back out of the water, that we have a father that loves us so much and will be with us every step of the way to the finishing line.

Matt, I'm a bit ashamed to say I had no idea of your troubles. Thanks for writing about your depression and I'll be praying for you - for you to see the light at the end of the tunnel and re-discover the flavour of life. May you know God's peace and love again, and more strongly than ever before.

Amen

Are you talking about a local wave (ie; Southampton Vineyard)?

We're beginning to see a few in our pond here, which is equally exciting...

I don't know if its what we're known for but in my opinion its a major part of who we are. I'm always blown away by our church - they know me and they STILL love me! CRAZY! I've learnt SO much about love in our church! I feel TOTALLY accepted! I haddn't known that feeling before I came here.

Its like Ben (isn't he lovely!?) was saying today - God's grace is awesome! And I'm grateful for His grace being reflected in our church!

Love breeds love - I feel all warm inside when I think about how so many of the people in our church choose to spend their time helping people. I hope and pray that more people than we can count are touched by Jesus' love through us.

Love you guys! xxx

mmm a work in progress then? arent we all!

Good to hear your expectations have been exceeded. i am personally encouraged when i hear God is moving in other peoples lives, my faith seems that little bit stronger, it makes me feel that even though i am still waiting for my breakthrough, God is moving.

So what exactly is the *stuff* that the communtiy centre is being used for? I know, i should probably go and read your whole Vineyard website,,, lol,,,i was distracted by your blog with the ramblings and glass of wine and to think all i was doing was surfing the web looking for a good Spirit filled church to visit one sunday when i am in the UK later in the year.(lol... Holy Spirit that is!)

Not so sure about the godly bit, but its very encouraging, all the same.

Things have been pregressing nicely. Actually, they are progressing so fast that it has exceeded all expectations. It is actually happening. People are actually using the Old Chemist for community stuff. It is really exciting to see that it is getting so booked up.

Am I any more focused on Jesus. Hmmm. Ask me next month.

What a great sense of humour, so nice to find the ramblings of a godly man, I realise a couple of months have passed since the above ramblings, it occurs to me that from conception to birth is 9 months, you have had 8 months of labouring, keeping focused on the Jesus, you are in the birthing period, after the labour pains, comes the joy of helping and watching your child grow, i pray God really reveals His plans to you that you keep your eyes on Jesus, hE truely will carry the load.

An update would be nice :)
